Can anyone in western PA recommend a good attorney for a chapter 7 filing? I have contacted several by email (since I am out of the country) and so far only one has responded. I always tell them in my email that I am overseas, so maybe that scares them off.

Most attorneys will not handle out of USA bankrutpcy's....... makes it very difficult to file, etc.......
It is mandantory that you attend the 341 meeting in front of the Trustee..... so will make it very difficult to file bankruptcy while your out of the states.....Minny

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

If you are overseas because you're in the military, there's special provisions for members of the armed services. If you're currently on duty out of the country, you aren't required to attend the 341. There's some other stuff that pertains directly to military members and their families.
If you're in the military, you might mention that when you email attnys. That would make a huge difference in the response you get.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
