    Visa Checkcard

My husband has been in 13BK for 2 years now and his Visa Checkcard has recently expired on his Checking Account. They didnt automatically send him a new one. To be honest, he's afraid to call and check on it for fear they will close down his checking account. It's something we can work around because I have a visa check card on the same account (more than one actually!) and he can use mine...but we're wondering if anyone else has had something like this happen.

Hmm. thats a good question. We have B of A and they sent us one automatically when the time came, so it could be a mistake, or maybe thats your banks policy??? I think if they were going to close his account they already would have, I dont see that it would hurt to check on it.

For the life of me I cannot understand why they wouldn't send you a visa checkcard (debit card). 13 or no 13, it is a direct withdrawal from you checking account, doesn't involve billing, doesn't involve credit. I'd call them and tell them to send you a card

BofA here too - and I am under the impression that your BK is totally seperate entitiy - unless you've somehow included them in the BK (loan).

Call them - it'll be fine

I agree, there should be no reason not to send you one, other than an error.
Besides, you should make sure it didnt go to the wrong address or something--

I filed Chapter 13 BK in Feb. 2005 Before my plan was confirmed, I opened a checking and savings account with a credit union and got a visa check card. No problem. I also work for a bank and received my new mastercard check card for my checking account there in October 2005. Again, no problem. Contact your bank to request a new check card. It may have been lost in the mail.

I BK'd on BofA, and after the 341 meeting I notified them I wanted to close my checking account with them (they charged too much per month). They really tried to get me to leave the account open. I was really surprised by this, I actually figured they would have closed it.
