How may years does the court get our tax returns

Would like to know how many years is the court intitled to my tax return? We filed in march 2003 and were discharged august 2003. (we turned over 2003 refund). No one seems to know this..my accountant says to ask the lawyer,the lawyer says to ask the accountant and the IRS says to ask the trustee??
