I called my DSL (AT&T) phone company today and asked them if they were offering any specials on DLS and that I was wondering because the offers I'm receiving for cable service which is faster is much better than they are charging me now (49.95 + tax). With my home service and my internet all on the same bill, it was right at 90/month.
Well, the rep looked at my account and said, well, if we add this feature to your home service, we can get a bundle deal. With the bundle deal, it drops your phone bill and at the same time makes you DSL drop to 19.95/month.
Oh, and switching to ATT long distance added another "bundle" cost saving.
At any rate, my entire home phone, dsl, long distance is now 45.00/month (I'm sure taxes will up it to around 50).
So, one phone call, and I saved a little over 40 bucks/month and ended up with more service. I don't really care about long distance, as I use my cell phone where long distance is included.
Now the kicker is, if I get there satellite dish for cable tv, there is a further reduction to my other services (another bundle). I haven't decided on the satellite dish yet, I have alot of tall trees in my back yard which is where the dish would need to go. If I do get it, I would save another 50 bucks from my current cable bill.
I am posting this in the event your looking for ways to save a few bucks on your phone bill or dsl bill. Make sure you call your phone company and see if there is anyway to save some money. I doubt most would save as much as I have, but you never know.
