    Nervous

I go to meet with my attorney tomorrow (consultation) I am a nervouse wreck. I am so afraid they are going to tell me some outrageous amount per month that I can't pay. It has to be better then where I am now just very very scared. Wish me luck.

I was nervous also. I just talked with one last week. I debated for a year about doing this and finally had to make the decision to seek an attorney's advice. Basically, I have just unsecured debts. I haven't file yet, but I am this week. I still have mixed emotions, but I do not feel as stressed out as I used to. Good luck!

Heck ya we were nervous - and even after they tell you the number you don't feel all that much better - the only thing that makes you feel better is that you are protected from prosecution and such.

Just think of it this way - you will get a # that is reasonable with your budget - you will be protected from creditors and prosecution and repossesions/evictions/forclosures - you will pay your debt back and each month you pay on time reflects your payment history. Your credit score will go up - and in some laborous months... you will be "free" from the debt you repaid.

Hang in there - and just take a few deep breaths... you'll be fine

Just remember, you're going in there with something a lot of other people don't have--knowledge. You've been on the boards since at least February. Make a list of questions you need answered. And don't make any decision about this lawyer until you've slept on it. Consults are free so shop around a bit. Especially for Ch 13--you could be dealing with this lawyer for 3-5 years.

My trustee clearly states on his web sight that he does not report to credit bureaus. Kinda a bummer, making payments to him will not help my credit report. Free from debt is a good thing with or without a credit score!!

I never even thought of that. I guess it's just assumed that if you survive Ch 13 BK, you made it out alive. ;) Wonder what gets put on people's credit reports that were in Ch 13 and couldn't complete the program--not IIB then.

Does a credit report distinguish between Ch 7 and Ch 13 IIBs?

Yes, the credit report shows I filed Chapter 13 BK. The creditors are showing me as "PP" which stands for Payment Plan. In the notes section, the creditors say "included in chapter 13 payment plan".
