    Stephen Snyder's Life After Bankruptcy...

We attended Stephen's seminar in the spring. We signed up for the services. Just for my husband's credit. I am becoming very concerned. We got back some letters from the credit reporting agencies. Some things have been removed that I am afraid may be hurting DH's credit. But they don't send you updated scores. Has anyone else here had experience with trying to dispute credit items and things being removed? Anyone used the law firm that Stephen Snyder endorses?

For those who have attended his seminar... what do you think? I was impressed at first. I had renewed hope. I saw a future. I saw savings and investing, and new credit..... But in real life..... it is harder to do than he tells it. We tried to get credit for a car and we were told that with a BK on your file, they don't even LOOK at your score... Has anyone else been told that? Cuz the Stephen guy would have us all believing that the score is the key, period. In spite of BK listings.... That just has not been my experience though...

    Anyone??? Thanks in advance.

Many of these bk seminars and "quick fix" seminars will often leave you in worse shape than you were before......

Don't misundestand..... many offer good ideas...... IF you are not already at the bankruptcy stage.............

Nothing wrong in investing, savings, organizing, budgeting, etc. But often it is TOO LATE if we have already hit the bankruptcy stage in our finances.

Many of these seminiars are MONEY MAKERS..... for the sponsor, speaker, and anyone he refers them too......

    SO BEWARE..........

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Skyan - don't despair. I also went to the Snyder seminar and feel I learned A LOT to go with the impressive wealth of information found here. Take the information for what it is - you have to decide which approach is best for you. However, if you have not yet read these boards top to bottom and then again, then it's no wonder you seem to be freakin. Yes you may experience a short-term drop in scores due to your circumstances and continued credit reporting. Start with the basics, get PAPER copies of your reports, scrutinize them with this board's suggestions close at hand, and figure out your own tactic. If it's to continue using the BRL service that Snyder recommended then give them a chance to work it out for you.

On the car thing, I was turned down three times within 40 days of discharge and was getting pretty despondent. Then I remembered what Snyder said. I picked a new dealership and started communicating with the finance director first - no salesmen, no way! Long story short, I got approved by Ford for 0.9% with scores hovering around 525 (lowest was 460). You CAN make this work, but to borrow a phrase from another place..."it works if you work it". Credit repair takes work, dilligent work on your part, and some here have almost become recluses while obtaining success. Good Luck.
