Anyone who's been discharged applied for Sear's card on their own?

    ..Just curious...

One of my friends said to go ahead & do the online thing & see if I could get approval on my own and not try to bother my mom...

I don't want this to count against me if I go to the mall with her tomorrow.

I don't know if Sears uses the same backer for all their CC's or not,but,......... Our Sears MC was/is actually funded by Citi.

Many Store cards are in fact backed by one of the bigger banks. We have 2 other store cards. One is backed by Chase and the other is backed by GE.

You might wanna ask a person in Sears' Credit Dept who their backer is before you apply. Might make a difference in your chances of being approved or not.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

the online backer is Citi...which is one of my cc's that I discharged...that doesn't seem to kosher to me?

Someone just posted on here, Amis, about getting credit with Lenders you BK'd against. How that can be dangerous as they will go adding back the amount you defaulted on previously, or something to that effect. But for the life of me, I can't remember who posted it or where.

I thought it was Anon. But then ALH posted a link to a Sharks vs CC's article. It wasn't there and I can't find it in Anon's recent thread posts. Maybe it will pop up again.

I remember that post from a couple of months ago? I do not, repeat do not! want to get involved with citibank or any of my previous creditors....

I had CB, Best Buy, MBNA, and Capital One ... I did pay off or settle with MBNA and Circuit City, a bit late but did pay...but I want to be really extra careful who I sign up with for my one & only card...

I'll try to look for that post.
