It seems like I have read several people were able to use lending tree and actually got loan offers for home/auto after they were discharged (sometimes more than one offer)? Am I correct?

You can get several offers, lending tree is just a website that sells your information to 4 brokers or banks usually. IT does not necessarily gurantee you the best rate. Please post your scenario here and we can take a look and see what you can do to get approved. For example credit scores, income, job time, estimated payment you are looking for, any money you have to work with if looking to put a doen payment. You can generally get financing with a 580 score for 100% financing.

I got offers from 2 places for an auto loan and not one lender for a mortgage.

We were at first told we didn't qualify for any of their lenders but then we were contacted by a company with an offer for a mortgage.

I highly recommend Lending Tree. They often take out the middle man for you!

Lending Tree is great for the consumer, however, you may find lenders trying to "undercut" the other guy to "win" your business. But when it comes time to sign, you might have a higher rate that you were promised.

Lending Tree was the first outlet we used to try to get a mortgage. I got about 6 calls from different mortgage brokers the first 2 days....and about 2 or 3 a day for the next 3 weeks. They all said the same thing and no one from there was able to help. I actually STILL got calls til the day we moved!! If you don't mind all the calls from every broker in the state.....
We eventually found a lender to get us a mortgage! Thank Heavens!:yes2:

Lending Tree is a joke in my opinion. I used their service in 2003 when I was looking to buy a car. My score at that point was in the mid 600s with a good history. They were unable to find even a single lender willing to help me get a car.

No luck with Mortgage lender but we did get a mortgage through Countrywide FLD...We had great luck through lending tree with our new car...We had about 4 offers with descent interest rates.
