    do-it-yourself forms

I am going to pursue the do-it-yourself route for the simple reason that I cannot afford even the most reasonable attorney's fees (unless a miracle occurs and I can actually obtain a good-paying job in the very near future...)

Several posts refer to getting the forms free online - how do I get them? What are the best websites to obtain free advice if any on how to fill out the forms and file them, and any other things I have to do? I have around $65,000 in unsecured cc debt, have made no payments in 3 months and am starting to get harrassed, owe the credit union another $3000, very little (probably under the exemption, not sure yet) in personal assets, have a used paid-for car worth $1600 according to NADA. Nothing else, no job, no unemployment pay, receive very occasional work as a freelance translator. Rent a room, do not own a house. Also have about $15,000 in personal debt to friends and family.

Also - has anyone tried the software you can buy that supposedly has all the necessary forms and guides you through the process?

Here are 2 web sites that I have used and have helped me. The 1st one charges a fee for the forms and instructions which are available to you for 2 days only. You must save them on your computer if you need them longer. After I purchased them I found the 2nd website which is the Southern District Bankruptcy court of Florida....they offer all the forms for free and some instructions....Please make sure you know where you need to file because it varies with where in Florida you live.
    Hope this helps

All you have to do is complete the corresponding form and submit it to court.
