    Need help with cleaning reports

    Hello Everyone:

I just got a free copy of my CR from Experian because I was turned down for a Dell Account almost 3 weeks ago. I briefly looked at it for errors but will go into detail over it tonight.

When I filed my BK in April I included all of the collection agencies that was on my reports and those that mailed letters to me trying to collect a debt. I used a total of 10 schedule F forms for this. So the first thing that I noticed was that all those collection agencies were not even listed on the Experian CR. Where did they disappear?

Second thing I noticed was that only the original CC's were listed and stated "ch 7 petition filed with the wrong dates that my BK was filed they are listing May when I filed in April. This makes it seem like I am still in a CH7 although some read 0 balance as of May 2006.

Only about 2 CC's state IIB with a 0 balance - this is ok, right?

Third some cards state that they were charged off/Ch 7 BK petition. On one of my cards in particular BP gas card I made a last payment in Feb and filed in April, so how is this charged off. Isn't there some rule about that a CC can use "charged off" as a result of a CH7 petition?

I can't dispute any cards that were already "charged off" prior to BK. For example my Sears card was charged off and sold to someone else in 2005. So I would have to wait until this drops off right? Some other cards are like this too but were sold to other companies which don't show up on this Experian report but did at one time when I got a copy in February 06.

Experian has the website where I can dispute, is it better to mail it rather than do it online?

Experian was quick, I mailed out my request for the CR last Monday. I also mailed one for Equifax so that should be on its way too.

This might sound crazy, but I am trying to access my CR's with little or nothing out of pocket. Since I was turned down for credit I am entitled to the EX and EQ reports. Does anyone know of a CC that pulls TU? So I could get that for free? I heard that Hooters does, but I was approved and got a card, so I am looking for another company?

    Any advice would be helpful!!

In my experience, almost all the items that were sold to "Collection agencies" disappeard from my reports was well. This is not a bad thing. Also, the items of smaller amounts were gone to.

Second thing I noticed was that only the original CC's were listed and stated "ch 7 petition filed with the wrong dates that my BK was filed they are listing May when I filed in April. This makes it seem like I am still in a CH7 although some read 0 balance as of May 2006.
That is a huge deal reaging items is not allowed! The date that should be listed on your report isd the date of 1dt delinquentcy. As long as the items were not brought current. I called the FTC and they have a law firm working on this for me

I'd check your reports again after discharge... again, in my experience, I have items that were marked as C/O and then chenged to IIB after the discharge of my case.

I can't dispute any cards that were already "charged off" prior to BK.
You can dispute anything that you need changed to IIB as long as it was included in your matrix

Experian has the website where I can dispute, is it better to mail it rather than do it online?

They disappeared probably cause u filed and it went back to OC...

Its cool that it said IIB, that's what u want it to say.

I am unsure about any rule I just know there ALL supposed to say IIB.

You can dispute anything on ur report that was INCLUDED on the Schedules as debt even if it was Charged off prior to BK

I like disputing online w/ experian I never have any issues.

Umm for Transunion American Express often pulls them Juniper (Carnival Sea Miles), home depot store card,
      Discharged... 2/13/07 Closed... 2/20/07
Ochard Bank $600 Household Bank $600
Hooters Card $1000 Target Store Card $500
      Discover HSBC $300

Maybe you misundertood what I meant here:

Second thing I noticed was that only the original CC's were listed and stated "ch 7 petition filed with the wrong dates that my BK was filed they are listing May when I filed in April. This makes it seem like I am still in a CH7 although some read 0 balance as of May 2006.

              Your response was

That is a huge deal reaging items is not allowed! The date that should be listed on your report isd the date of 1dt delinquentcy. As long as the items were not brought current. I called the FTC and they have a law firm working on this for me

What I was trying to say was that I filed my BK and at least 2 creditors said Ch 7 Petition filed on May 5 another one listed May 10 - these dates are inaccurate - I filed April 18 2006. Is this what you meant by "re-aging?"

I also read at another forum (I don't know if I can mention the name) that if a creditor charged off your acct prior to filing - you can't contest it because its accurate. Although it was charged off (SEARS) and purchased by another CA (which is not on my CR anymore) should it still read IIB?

Only about 2 of my orig CC say IIB/zero balance. The rest are saying a petition was filed. The report was generated this month reflecting my BK resolution was in July 2006 so I don't know why more CC haven't reported it correctly.

I have my original EX CR in front of me, not off the internet. It did mention that I can dispute online, have you done that? What proof do you have online that you disputed it?

              Thanks
