I have three more questions:
- How will it affect my chances if a small % of the debt was incurred gambling (legal gambling in Las Vegas, about three months ago)? This money I blew like a fool when I was out there looking for work was not from cc advances - they were already maxed - but from personal loans from my dad and a friend.
- I am in the process of getting a new job, but it will take a few weeks to go thru if it does. Should I try to file before I am hired? I am about 3 months past due on cc bills now. $65k cc debt, $15k personal debts to famiy and friends (which I am not seeking to charge off obviously) no $, no job currently, not collecting unemployment, no assets to speak of, no family.
- I don't want to do anything dishonest, but am I better off claiming that the money my friends and family loaned me (verifiable by way of credit union deposits) when my credit cards tapped out, which I subsequently blew playing cards, was "gift" money? Should I wait a certain period before beginning to pay them back?
Thanks again for all the help
