When filling out a future budget, anything I should pad? Like groceries, dining, personal care, utilities so I don't get hit too hard later? Thanks in advance. Or does it all go off past/proven expenses?

When we went thru our expenses with the paralegal, some of our items were more than the Schedules allowables or what the local Court was used to seeing. The paralegal said they (she and the attny) would probably have to "trim" those areas.
Other areas, we didn't spend enough. The paralegal put Stars by those columns as a notation that they could pull extra $$$'s from those areas.
We were higher on food than the Court was used to seeing here. That was a trim area. Way lower on clothes. That one got a star beside it.
Another thing the paralegal noted the other day,......... We were chatting about the new numbers coming out. I said hopefully, it would allow for increased fuel costs. The paralegal said that people here typically don't spend anywhere near the allowable for gasoline anyway. Generally only about half. They have one couple that both hubby and wife commute 70 miles each to work every day. They are the only ones that actually spend what we're allowed to for our area.
The best guide for what's gonna be allowed in your area can be found on PACER in cases filed where you live. Your local attnys also know what the Court will and will not accept.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
