    Collection and EQ

    Hello everyone
This in my first time here and from what I have seen so far I very much like it.

but I need a little advice.

Checked my wifes CR today and lo and behold what appeared on there overnight but a collection account.

Here's the down and dirty. She has a clean report with the exception of a CH7 BK we filed in 2003. Today after checking her CR there is a Collection on there from a company called HILCORECV for Dominion, I'm guessing electric company in VA. Now we did file on them and the original CA called NCO in 2003. I disputed a couple things on EQ that they had wrong and they just deleted it. Yesterday it showed up on there by the new CA.
It gives an orig date of 1990 and a reported date of 8/2006 but no date of last activity or any other real info. Think the last time we used the electric comp there was 2002. But since we filed BK in 2003 and included both Dominion and NCO can they come back now and list it on her report with a new CA. Seems like that would violate both BK laws and FCRA.

What would be the best way of attacking this??

Want to hit it quick before it hurts her on other things like CC rates or the like.

    Thanks for any help ..

You can file a complaint with the ftc @ http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/consumer.htm as well as with your own state attorney general, and try to sue the collection agency for damages as well if you wanted to. Bu just to get it off her credit report, you will have to dispute it with the credit bureaus, and contact the collection agency to inform them the debt was included in bankruptcy and is legally uncollectable.

I moved your post to this Section of the Forum as this a more appropriate place for this Question.

I am not as skilled at Disputing on the CRA's as other Members of the Forum.

One thing I think is going on here is the Creditor is "reaging" the acct. Which is a No No.

Here's a link to a recent thread where this was discussed:

      Hope this helps.
