    Confirmed 7/28/06 ?

If we were confirmed on July 28 06 would we have recieved a letter from our trustee stating wether he is going to want a copy of our tax papers yet or not.(for 2006) We have received nothing and was just wondering if they send them closer to tax time or we should know by now. My lawyer at the time said you won't need to keep any records of bank statements anymore, so am I safe to feel we won't?

If you are in a Chapter 13 or even a Chapter 7, I WOULD KEEP all paperwork involved in that Chapter 13 (regardless of what my attorney says)....... Trustee's have often come back and requested information during a bankruptcy, and if you've thrown it all out...... you got a problem.....

You need to keep your bank statements, payment stubs, etc....

If you can't prove you've paid........ you could end up paying it again.....

Any legal documents you might sign, bills that you might payoff, titles, etc..... it is wise to keep.....

An ounce of prevention, goes a long way....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Dac67, probably the only thing you will receive now is the confirmation of the plan from the court, a list of claims filed in your case.

I would definatly keep copies of your tax returns. You can call the trustee and ask if they want copies of the tax returns. I know my trustee wants any amount over 1000 in tax refund.

I keep every document, bank statement, pay stub, etc. and will until my chapter 13 is discharged. Who knows if and when the trustee will want them. As Minny said..... an ounce of prevention. Good luck.
