    Old accounts??....Member: FilingOnMyOwn

Hey....I noticed sonething in your signature, I was going to IM you, however I am having the same problem, so I am posting a thread, incase anyone else finds themselves in the same situation.

You mentioned your score dropped due to an old account resurfacing. Was this account IIB? or one that you forgot about?
We have the same problem!!! It's with Experian. We disputed accounts on both mine and my hubby's reports right after discharge. Most were corrected, and to our surprise, there were many removed. However NOW 8 months later they 2 showed back up?? I was livid!!! I called Experian, and I explained the situation, and they said the creditor removed the account, must have corrected it, and NOW reposted it. With that time gap?? I could see if they corrected the info right then and there back 8 months ago, and it now reports correctly, but they removed it completely.....so they admit it was wrong.... Now 8 months later it pops back up?that is not fair.
OK..here is the question....if you dispute something and there is no response the credit report has to deleate the info, right? Does the creditor have the right to repost it? They had their 30-45 days , but they dropped the ball. So why bother disputng if they can just add accounts back on?? How many chances are supposed to give these creditors? My hubby's score dropped big time.

    Have you had any luck?

    thanks

My accounts were old accounts, that had gotten sold off to a new collection agency after my discharge. I got 2 of them removed, still waiting on one report.

If your accounts were on your credit reports before you filed, I'm afraid they are reporting them correctly. Best you can do really is dispute them every time they resurface, then apply for what you need to during the times that your reports stay clean.
