    credit monitoring

I go thru Truecredit as my monitoring service. I got a free score from myfico. Is there a way to monitor only ALL 3 scores monthly from myfico? Or do I have purchase all 3 every month until I am done?

You have to purchase them every month I believe.

    However, I wouldn't.

The score that you are buying from MyFico.com is not the same one that a car dealer would pull, or a credit card company would pull, so you are wasting your time and money.

From what I understand..the fico score is generally only pulled like if you are trying to buy a house? All the others (credit card co..banks) pull from 3 CRAs?

I signed up for truecredit as well. The 'fako' scores I get from true credit are only marginally off from those I've gotten from myfico.com, which is a ripoff... Only about 5-10 pts difference.

No, that's a FICO that they are pulling, but they are using completely different formulas to calculate your score. You could go to three different car dealerships today, and every single one of them, unless they use the same formula, will have a completely different credit score.

The FICO's from myfico.com are not the same ones that a mortgage lender would pull either. I know because one day a gentleman came in to fill out his mortgage app, and he presented us with a score from MyFico.com. We couldn't use this of course, and when we pulled the score, it was about 20-30 points off from what MyFico.com gave him.

          They are crooks and theives.

Very interesting tinroofrusted! Thanks for the information, it's very helpful in deciding about whether or not to pay for the service.

Do you think all the credit monitoring company's are a a rip-off? Maybe we should just get our free annual report to work from for clean up. Because the CRA's send a new report when you dispute and something has changed, right?

My FICO is a rip off! Don't waste your money! I paid $40 and thier information was outdated. When I complained, they refused to refund my money. Save the $40 and go out to dinner or something.
              My credit scores:
Before Filing: Tr 496, Ex 496, Eq 507

              Today: Tr 618 (+122), Ex 601 (+105), Eq 623 (+116)

my only problem with truecredit is that to update my cr - i have to click like 5 freakin' times to do it every time. Answering the same q's over and over again. Bad design.

I don't know how to honestly answer this question. I think that they are providing a helpful service, but I think that it should be free, and I think that it should be accurate, period.

Most of the time, it costs something, and it's not free. This is information that they are allowed to collect and obtain from you from the day you turn 18 years old, and there basically isn't a damned thing that you can do about it, and then they want to charge you for YOUR information?! This just eeks and radiates scuminess.

I thought they were outdated. I checked my score before all my disputes...and everytime after the disputes were finished. I had my only 2 collection accounts changed to PAID (paid before went to collection), and 3 accounts changed to IIB. My score never changed and this is a timeline between 25 days.

I never have to answer any questions to update the report. When I click credit reports...I then click update report/score anyalis...I opt NO to offers and agree and confirm to the terms and then the update is there.

It's a small price to pay to view your updated report every 24 hours. I would rather do that tan to pay for new scores every month...or not be able to view the report but 1 time a month.
