Getting rid of our lawyer!

We hired a lawyer to do our chap. 7 filing. He is an older gentleman. His practice consist of him and another partner and a legal secretary. He has been very slow in getting things done for us. Sometimes we call and no one even picks up the phone.....scary. We had our 341 meeting yesterday and were waiting for our lawyer to show up. We started to get nervous because he was at least thirty minutes late. We were called to the table to start our meeting and still no lawyer. Just as we were sitting down he finally shows up. The trustee asked for a lot of documentation prior to our 341 meeting which we handed over to her the day of the meeting as it relates to our financial support for our son who is twenty two years old but also suffers from some psychological problems and is under the care of a doctor. We pay for the majority of his living expenses including rent and food and medicines. Our concern is we don't think he is taking our case seriously and in the event we need to defend ourselves if the trustee objects to any of our expenses we don't feel we have the right person to really fight for us. Our question is how hard is it to get rid of the lawyer and get someone else after having gone through our 341 meeting? We just have a very uncomfortable feeling about him.

Unfortunately, you should have changed lawyers before now.......

Presently, I would just wait and see what happens next......... the old gentlemen may surprise you..............

At this point, I would do nothing. Wait and see if the Trustee has any issues. If not, you will receive your discharge without the lawyer having to do anything additional. If the Trustee has issues, you are free to discuss the case with someone else.
