    Closing Joint account

My husband want to file a bankruptcy chapter 7. He has two accounts at Chase. One of this accounts his, he has debt on it. Other account - joint with me and there is ZERO on it..not charges no debts ...nothing - it was just a base point to start my credit history...but now Chase doesn't want to close our joint account....they just refuse and that is it...But because of bankruptcy and unimportantcy I don't need this account - it is just exist...What can I do to close this account?

You and your husband could send Chase a certified letter telling them to close your joint account immediately.

If they don't, take your certified letter receipt and a copy of the letter to your husband's bankruptcy lawyer and ask the lawyer to write a letter to Chase demanding the account be closed immediately.
    Filed/discharged/closed Chapter 7 in 2010!
