    Car Insurance and Ch 7

Regarding car insurance, do these premiums change after filing Ch 7? When my policy is up for review in Nov, I wonder if my car insurance underwriter will re-check my credit and after seeing BK on my credit, will my premium jack up? Anybody has this experience before after filing Ch 7? Thanks for sharing!
Chapter 13 filer since Feb. 2018 under a 60 months payment plan
Please think positive and do not give up!

Not sure about a Ch 7 or even if it makes a difference, but when my Ch 13 was filed, my rates didn't go up at renewal time. They only went up because of adding a teen driver. I believe in some states, credit scoring is not allowed for auto policies.

The good thing is, unless you change your carrier, you'll most likely not be affected since they only check your credit at the initial state of underwriting. If you switch insurance companies, youll more than likely get quoted a higher premium.

They even sometimes overlook any new violations on your driving record (unless they were major) at time of renewal. The time it really catches up to you is when you switch from one to another.

Hey thanks for the posts. That helped! In this case, I will stick with my current car insurance. Been happy with it for a long time anyway.
