    Payments Before Bankruptcy

I have a question about making credit card payments before bankruptcy. I am currently unemployed. I am meeting with my attorney this week because I would like to file chapter 7 because I am unable to make my credit card payments. My total cc debt is $20,000 and I don't see myself being able to dig my way out honestly with my $45,000 student loan debt that I know can't be discharged. My debt management payment is due to all my credit cards this week. Should I make the regular $500 payment? Is there anything that could prevent me from filing if my income for the past three years has been under 10,000 each year? Any advice is appreciated.

If you are certain about filing for BK, why make any more payments to debts that will be discharged ?
At 10K/yr of annual income, you will easily pass the means test and qualify for BK7.
