Balloon mortgage and CH 7

Hi ..
once again I come and ask another question. This is it..we have a first mortgage which is a Balloon payment due in 2021.....here is my question, we plan NOT to reaffirm, but instead do as BofA told us "pay and stay" . does this work with a balloon payment OR does that Balloon payment become due when you file BK7?
being older folks we probably won;t be here in 2021.........so we had planned to do the "pay and stay" thing..will Bof A ask for the balloon immediately or can we just keep paying ?

Depends on what your mortgage paperwork states. Typically, as long as you pay, you can stay. I wouldn't reaffirm the mortgage. This way, when you do leave, they can't come after you or your estate for the balance owed.
