Ford Motor Credit will not let you pay and ride thru, when you file bankrptcy, Hubby just got the letter from Ford, He have 60 days to sign reaffirm or they will assume we want to surrender the car. We are current on our payments and assumed we would just keep paying. Our attorney recommended we retain on filing, but not reaffirm. So we will be letting the car go.
I know, but you can reaffirm and keep the car, the attorney can say don't do based on it not being a good case. I think in some instances a judge or court won't approve it if it's not in your best interest, high interest rate or more than you can afford. I also have a leased car with Ford Credit that is my wife's car, I co-signed it so I am on it, but from what I read leases the bankruptcy code does not require reaffirmation of car leases.
My Fico is low 500's and I do not think giving up both my cars with Ford Credit will be a ideal, I won't be able to get a loan from anyone else.
