    Transfer Period Look Back

Will having gifted my old car to my step daughter 30 months before I filed be an issue? My atty said it isn't but it seems that even though it is more than 2 years ago that the court can say since you were in debt and beginning to have financial difficulties, rather than having given it away to a family member you should have sold it and paid off some creditors. Does this occur? They can have the vehicle if they want it. It isn't worth more than 3000 dollars now and is 12 years old. It just seems confusing how the look back period is interpreted when property was given to family. In some places I read it is 4 years, others 2 years, some one year. I just told my atty when the stuff was given away and he said if it was more than 2 years ago, I don't want to know about it.

If it's over 2 years ago, then don't worry about it.
