hello, I have a 1994 GMJ jimmy. I stopped paying when I left California. I bought the car from a auto broker for 4,450. The last time I checked I owed 1,100. Its been 3-4 years since i last made a payment, and it has not been registered since then. But it still runs.
When I met with my bankrupt lawyer he said I can get a sheriff's title for it.
Not sure what he meant by that? any answers for me would be great. thanks Dennis

The Idaho Department of transportation has an abandoned vehicle guide. Do a Google search for "sheriffs title idaho" and you will find it, it was the first return for me.

There are very specific circumstances involved and usually the vehicle must have been abandoned or subject to a mechanics lien. That website is pretty thorough on what/when/how to get a title.

    Good luck!
