Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!) (updated: 04/28/2015)

Welcome to the Bankruptcy Forum. Bankruptcy (BK) Forum is known as BKForum.com and will be referred to as BKF hereinafter. In order to ensure a long term success of our vibrant community, we have established certain rules and guidelines to which everyone must adhere to. Please take your time to carefully read our rules, before you start to participate in the community.

Things you agree to do:
BKFORUM.com (BKF) users agree to use the search function before starting a new thread. This prevents duplicate discussions and allows for better organized topics.

All BKF users agree to read the sticky posts which may be available at the top of a forum page. These Sticky posts often contain valuable information. They may also outline more rules and guidelines specific for that particular forum, stickies are put in place by that forums moderator(s) or admin(s).

Things you agree not to do:

All BKF users agree not to call people names or write a post simply to make a personal attack, or get a negative reaction; this behavior is not allowed on our forum. The use of derogatory language aimed at anyone will be severely dealt with. There is no need to agree with each other, or to even like each other. However, by signing onto BKForum.com you agree to treat each member and guest with the respect they deserve. No threats or personal attacks will be allowed.

All BKF users agree not to discuss, engage, or encourage any behavior or activity which violates the law. Discussion of drugs, violence, murder, theft, vandalism, fraud or any other issue which could be used to help individuals break the law is strictly forbidden.

All BKF users agree not to "bump" old threads, unless there is a specific benefit to the community by doing so. But in most cases, please don't post in very old threads, instead start new threads.

All BKF users agree not to attempt/use another members account. It is against BKF rules to use any account other than your own. Impersonating another member will result in an immediate ban. It is also against the rules to open more than one account in your own name without permission from a moderator or administrator. If you have been banned for any reason, it is against the rules to open another account. If you were banned temporarily and you are caught using another account you will be banned permanently. Choosing a moniker which is similar in either sound or spelling as a moderator or administrator is strictly forbidden.

All BKF users agree not to private message any moderator, admin, or other member with questions related to their personal circumstances (Questions about the forum or issues with the forum are ok). This forum only works when members share their experience and insights with everyone.

Things you agree not to post:

All BKF users agree not to post any copyrighted or trademarked information without the express written permission of the owner(s) / proper citation of source.

All BKF users agree not to post any real names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, social security numbers, or any other personal details (their own or other people's).

All BKF users agree not to post links, pictures, attachments, videos, or the like of pornographic content, objectionable material or extreme violence, whether cartoon or real.

All BKF users agree not to use BKF for advertising purposes without a written contract between yourself/company/agent and the administration of BKF. Blatant advertising will result in a ban.

All BKF users agree not to spam the forums. Spam includes but is not limited to posting erroneous, non-relevant-useless, off-topic, or meaningless posts. Spam may also include posts which contain no text, or large areas of blank space between lines. Simply posting emoticons without text is considered spam. BKF is the largest bankruptcy message board and all the content is intended to help other users. Please help us improve the quality of our forum by making sure that your posts are well-worded, spell checked, grammatically correct and syntaxed.

Regarding actions of moderators and administrators:

The forum is no place to air out your opinion or be judgmental of our staff and its capabilities.

All BKF users agree not to abuse or mistreat moderators or administrators. It is against BKF rules to post any information regarding bans or any other action taken by a member of the moderating or administrative team. If you wish to discuss bans or warnings please do so via PM. To place a complaint against a moderator, send a PM to a super moderator. All Moderators are equal, any decision made by a moderator must be adhered to. If a moderator tells you something you do not like, do not go to another moderator looking for a different answer. If you are caught doing this you will be banned. The moderators work as a team and respect the decisions made by their peers and will help enforce them unless an administrator tells them differently.
If you have an issue with how the forum is run, then notify one of our administrator and we will look into the situation. We have in the past and still do appreciate any input that you offer this forum. But critical input and/or judgmental postings towards the staff will result in you getting banned.

Should you find a thread offensive or out of line, then notify a Mod in a PM so they can evaluate the situation and do the action deemed necessary.

All moderators do have active "other" lives outside of the forum and help moderate this forum in their spare time throughout the days and weeks.

If you have a problem with a member or Mod follow the proper channels of reporting it.

BKF reserves the right to delete any posts which contain anti-BKF comments or discussion. Any bashing of moderators or administrators, or any of their discussion or actions will also be deleted, and the responsible posting party(s) will be banned. Any public anti-BKF advertising, communication, or posts on another forum will result in permanent bans as well.

All warnings and bans are decided by individual moderators and administrators. Warnings are preferable to bans however, for serious offenses and repeat abusers bans will go into effect. The length of the bans can vary from several hours to permanent.

All messages posted or sent including through PM are the property of BKforum.com.

All BKF users agree not to advertiser on the forum (Niether by posting, private messaging or using your signature). If you are a company/attorney/legal adviser wishing to advertise on the site or sell a product, you must contact the head administrator and inquire about our advertising packages.

All bankruptcy related opinions expressed on BKForum.com are those of their authors and not necessarily of BKF, its staff or representatives.

You agree not to copy any material/post/content from BKF without written permission from our head administrator .

By posting on this forum you agree to these terms and conditions, including any punishment deemed appropriate by moderators or administrators in the event of an offense.

Administrators/Moderators can change these rules at any time without prior notice.

  • Three weeks ago I got gas for $2.12 a gallon, now it is $2.52. Been that way for a little over a week now. Jumped from $2.39 one day to $2.52 the next.
Cross over - I think that is the most bu!!$hi+ excuse they have given us yet.
Last years and years in the past it has NEVER gone up that much for that.

I guess the sign at the gas pumps should say, "Here's your sign." You can only conserve so much without everything coming to a standstill.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

        • In North Carolina. It was $2.12 a couple weeks ago. At the first of the month, in Georgia, there were some places it was a $1.99.

I won't be happy until it is less than a $1.00 a gallon. It was that in 2002.

Gas prices effect everything, except in our salary.

          • This gas thing is out of hand...

I think the gas is more expensive and it's lasting less...I think it's 2.59 for regular here on the island...LBK...2.79 for reg....but the gas is not staying in my tank? I guess the $15 bike at good will we looked at yesterday won't be there if I head into town today...hmmmm...

I think we should have gas refusal to buy gas 24 hour period...then follow it by everyone refusing to use their cars for 24 hours...then people should all go trade their SUVs one day..you know...mix it up a bit...

                  • I gave up my Dodge Truck (hated it, doesn't compare to my GMC) and am getting a 97' Suburban still. No more small cars either. 'Course the Subby will be a weekender. Matter of space, back and ride. My Corsy and me are at a parting of the ways, though I won't sell her, she's part of the family and will go when she dies, which will probably be a loooong time, still have my GMC Sierra four door. Wife uses it most of the time.

I used to work at the Walgreens there, and I lived on NW 120 Way as recently as 5 1/2 years ago. I am so glad I moved away from that area, the cost of living has just become absurd down there.

I did it for a year, 12 miles each way. Once you're in shape, its nothing. I could do it in 45 minutes, when driving could take up to an hour when traffic is bad. Feels good to sail past cars stuck in traffic on your bike. Only thing that sucks is getting rained on. Keep an extra set of clothes at your work in case you get soaked on your way there.

Its 2.70 up here at the beaches of jacksonville and ponte vedra. I'm trying to ditch the camaro for a ride that gets better mileage. But I can't touch a diesel for under 5 grand, because noone is selling, and every econobox that I try to pick up is sold by the time they answer the phone. On the flipside, anyone looking to buy an suv, for whatever reason lol, they will be going for dirt cheap later in the summer.

                          • Well Titan, you used to wave at me then! I walk a half a block to the Walgreens. Sunrise was so great not even five years ago. The Arena went up at Sawgrass in '95 (blechhhh), now Artesia is going up on that piece of real estate that was barren at the north end of the mall by the arena. 400,000 and up and thats a 2 bedroom 1256 sq. ft. place, 709.00 monthly maintenance. Right next to Sawgrass Preserve two 14 story condos are going up. The hell with this, the folks in the Preserve are livid. My old beloved Sunrise, so quiet, I never used to close the patio door on Friday nights so the I could enjoy the lake, never used to hear a police siren, etc...

The Shell station used to play movies at the gas pumps as did the Chevron at the Mall, those pumps are antiques now and the City forced them to replace them. The last Hurricane destroyed the PD Building and city hall, that's right City Hall, that whole beautiful complex is partially abandoned. The City wants rich folks now, our beloved little cow pastures and the horse farm at Pine Island and Oakland have bit the dust.

PS- those little 2 bedroom homes in Golf Village (the older ones when you turn south at 115 and oakland) are darn near 300,000 now. In our development newbies are reporting 4500.00 tax bills. Homeowners insurance, 1800.00 to 4000.00 depending for the year coming up.
The City still gives away food and soda at the parades and all but that will dissappear eventually. Sad, if this is progress, to hell with it.

The little mall across from the Walgreens behind the Shell has new owners, a nice restaurant (Pollos Don Mario) and has really been fixed up nicely. All but one of the stores is rented. I am in Welleby, as you probably were also, it is nice, just not the same. Forget about a Townhome here for under 220,000.00, they don't exist. Sunblest and all the units on 94 ave. are 249,000 and up, some in Sunblest and Kings Court are over 300,000. Go figure.

I sold my mom's house (after she passed away) on NW 120 Way in 2002 for $165,000. At that time it was a great price because it needed some fixing up work and it only cost $82,000 when it was built in 1985. I saw that the city was on a downward slide, especially with Pat Salerno doing everything behind closed doors.

I was living in Coral Springs until February of last year, until the ex and I broke up. I lived with my sister for a little while in West Palm Beach, then moved up here. I haven't regretted it one day.

Good luck to you for staying there and toughing it out. You have my admiration, because I knew I just couldn't tolerate the South Florida area much longer.
