I know that if you write a check and it doesn't clear before you file that it is considered in the bank. What about use of debit cards? My bank shows:
Previous balance 1000
Pending transaction 600
Available balance 400

Cash on Hand?
Anyone know the limit on how much cash you can have when you file Chpt 7? Since all my credit cards have been canceled I keep $1000 in my checking account for life's little emergencies. I'm guessing the trustee would seize some of that.

Question on assets and the homestead exemption
Of course I am going to be asking my attorney the same question but I'd like to get as much information as possible. Let me see if I have this right, my state (Pennsylvania) does not have a homestead exemption, so I'll be using the federal one, right? That's 20K or thereabouts? I'm giving up my former...
