Can I buy an annuity now?

I was discharged and closed on Oct. 2. I want to start thinking about my retirement. Can I now buy an annuity now or is there a certain period of time I have to wait?

9/28/09: Discharged
10/2/09: Case closed!

Since you are discharged and closed, I would think you can purchase an annuity any time you want. Provided you have the money..
