When (and how) will they pick up my car?

I amended my paperwork to voluntarily surrender my car. A copy was sent to the leinholder. Well, two weeks ago, my debts were discharged. I've heard of companies not picking up surrendered property before, so I figured I'll just wait until they contact me. So I'm waiting, and waiting....are they going to call? Send a letter? Is there a period of time they have to arrange pick-up before it becomes mine?

Also: The car was broken into and has a broken quarter glass. If they are going to pick it up, do I have to fix this?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I wouldn't worry about fixing it. If they call it will probably be because they can't find it. As long as you have told them you are surrendering the car don't worry about it. It is their problem now.

Once the Lien Holder has been notified of your intent to surrender the vehicle, you may recieve a call from the recovery agency asking where the vehicle is, and for the keys - they usually ask for the keys if the car is voluntarily surrendered. If the vehicle isn't parked where its addressed.

      Good Luck!

It took them THREE long months to pick mine up and they did it in the middle of the night dragging the car and making a scene. Sigh. I would have gladly given them the keys.
