I have now paid into the plan for 7 months do I have to wait until my five years is up to buy a house? I have read that after 2 yrs of discharge from a chapter 7 you can buy a home but I don't see anything about when you can buy a home if you have filed a chapter 13.-
#1arkienurse commentedEditing a commentYou will get more responses if you will post this over in the forum section, rather than the blogs, but I can tell you this--- In a chapter 13, you need the trustee's permission before you take on new debt, so unless the trustee says ok, you will have to wait until you are done. Talk to your lawyer and see if they think it will fly with the trustee.
