It all started many years ago when I failed to learn how easy it was to spend money with credit. Like many of us here, I always thought I could pay it back.

I graduated from college and got a great job. That was in 2000. I live in a very expensive area and work in a field where my clients all have way more money than I do. It started with trying to look like I lived their lifestyle. Here come the credit cards.

Next, I met my future husband. He was raised in a very well to do family ( not me ) but at the time I met him, was no longer enjoying that money. He still lived like he did. Talk about a champagne taste on a beer budget.

So because I was baking great money, we spent it. Never thinking twice about getting in over our heads.

Flash forward to Sept 2007 and we were in 80k of CC debt, had a huge mortgage and car payments.

So because we never even considered not repaying our debt, I get a second job to help repay our debt. We set up a tight budget and grit our teeth and bear it.

In the mean time, husband's health is deteriorating. He had two heart surgeries, but was still able to work. We both decide that we can't go on like this and look into BK.

Have to go 13 because of income. Attorney tells me to quit second job and stop paying
credit cards. Wait for the 6 month look back to be true and filed this May.
