As I've mentioned previously, I have been making small payments to each of our accounts every month, starting May-June of this year, hoping that it would keep the OC's from charging off our accounts. From what I now see with WAMU (assigned to collection co), BofA (2 of 4 accounts charging off today) and Citi (1 of 2 accounts charged off this week), it doesn't appear to have made a difference. So far, Juniper, Discover, and GM Card have not charged off.

So, that's 4 out of 10 accounts already charged off or headed that way, or assigned to a collector. I assume the other 6 will all go the same way by the end of February.

I will say, everyone with the exception of one lady at Citi and the people at Juniper have all been pretty nice. Maybe because we had good payment history with them for years before this happened, maybe because they see we have been trying, maybe because I call them? Who knows.

If anything at all, maybe it will reduce our likelihood of being hit with creditors' objections - no way to really know that until the dust settles next year.
