So why *do* credit card companies send so many offers to people who have BKed?

The ones that kill me are the auto loan offers. It seems like I get at least one of those a week - and looking through the fine print, if you met all of their qualifications, you wouldn't be in the market for an auto loan. And, quite frankly, looking at the companies offering them - they are companies I wouldn't do business with anyway.

I personally will not be buying any car I can't pay cash for in the foreseeable future. That way, I can pretty much tell the finance companies where they can take their interest rates, loan terms, and loan requirements.

I've been discharged for >3 months and haven't had a single CC offer, but I opted out of those several years ago so I suspect I won't get many. Cap1 did check my credit a couple of months ago. DH has gotten a few CC offers, though, and they're always good for a laugh They go right in the trash.

An offer means nothing. Chase won't give you a credit card if you have a recent BK so it is trash anyways.

I haven't received any of those yet. All of them wanted substantial annual fees, even the Capital One cards that other posters have said offered them a no-fee card. Still, I'm not ready for a CC yet so it doesn't bother me much.

I haven't filed bk, and I've got 40k of cc debt that I haven't paid in 2 years. Both my husband and I are getting cc offers. No annual fee and 12 months no interest. I was blown away. Into the trash they went! CC's are evil!
