Since you live with your mom and her friend maybe you could ask them for some help? Maybe they will loan you the $30 to purchase this book and then after you file for BK you can pay them back the money you owe them?
Either that or look for Legal Aid in your area and they will help you.

Hello Kcath, I cant help you with coming up with the money. But, my husband and I used clearpoint Financial for our classes. In the Nolo Book it tells you that If you are below a certain income you can request that the fees for the classes be waived. It was for my husband and I. Im sure any of the places that offer the classes would do this as well. But you have to make sure that you ask about it, they will not volunteer that information.

Hi Kcath. Many of us had those kinds of feelings of despair and have had crappy situations also, but hang in there. But confusedinVA is right, there are some places that will waive the fee for special situations and the first thing you can do is just look around. Going through this process is all about baby steps, and yes, it can be trying. You have support here.filed: 5/17/06

If you need some quick cash, there's a temporary work organization called LaborReady - http://www.laborready.com/default.aspx . You go in the morning at 7 am and get assigned to a temporary manual labor job - stuff like cleaning construction sites, mopping floors in businesses, filing in an office, etc - that can last anywhere from a day to a week. The nice thing is that at the end of the day, you're paid what you earned that day. If your physical health is good, see if your town has LaborReady or another temporary work organization to get some quick cash for a day's work. That can help pay for the Nolo book plus get a tank of gas or two.Originally posted by kcathometaz View PostOk I will try and not let this get to me so bad...I have had a bad 2 years and I just have had the crappiest luck...but it sounds corny but at least I don't have any physical health issues...life could be worse...thanks for the support you guys...
Hang in there - keep venting here as needed. Keep us posted on how things are going, ok?Last edited by lrprn; 09-24-2006, 03:23 PM.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Labor Ready? Good Luck. Try 5.15 x 4 hrs = 20.60. After taxes for a 4 hour check would get you 16-17 dollars. Then they charge you to withdraw your 'paycheck' from their 'atm' $1 plus change. So as little as $15 can be your paycheck for the day. Trust me, I've tried it. You can spend $15 in gas just to drive to one of their jobsites and back, which they do not reimburse you for.

Yes, I suppose this could happen in some circumstances. However, when our kids and their friends have used LaborReady here as a stop gap between jobs or just to pick up some extra cash during school vacations, they have typically come home with at least $45-50 clear every 8-hour day they worked. Perhaps that's due to the different areas of the country FOMO and I each live in?Originally posted by FilingOnMyOwn View PostLabor Ready? Good Luck. Try 5.15 x 4 hrs = 20.60.
