Question on not having filing fee upfront

I could be, do to the fact that I have to have my BK 7 done before the end of November, that I may have trouble coming up with the filing fee. Just began deep study on doing this pro se and I don't see a problem getting the paper work done before I have to go to court with a creditor. The problem is I have just started working again, finally, and I'm not so sure if I'll be able to cover the $299 before the end of November. I had read somewhere that you can set up payment plans for the filing fee or get it waived all together. Can someone tell me if any of this is true?

    Thank you

The U. S. Bankruptcy Courts allow filing Ch 7 without paying the fee under very specific circumstances - see http://www.uscourts.gov/bankruptcyco...uidelines.html for the details. Knowing that you just became employed will make it very unlikely that you will qualify.

Given that you are headed to court for a collections case in a month, it would be a really good idea to make appointments for free half-hour to hour consultations with 3-4 bankruptcy lawyers in your area. They can tell you if the collections case may be dischargeable when you file or not. They can also tell you what payment plans may be available for you to retain one that you like to help you not only with your bk but with your collections case as well. Bk lawyers are very used to helping people who have no immediate money to pay them. It's well worth your time, even if just to get some free advice. Good luck!
