    IRS refund in chapter 13

    Help anyone please.
I have been in a chapter 13 for almost 24 months. When we set up the plan my attorney said all IRS refunds would reduce the debt and the time on the plan. Orginally it was for 40 months. Last years refund was taken by irs and held for the trustee. Yesterday I was online and it never showed the refund. I called the trustee who was not very nice and said she would call IRS However, it does not reduce my debt at all. I called my attorney back and again he stated it reduces my debt and my payoff months. We only had the one secured loan of an auto and it would pay it all of sooner. I have read in the forum that some people are getting there refunds. I live in the state of Washington and do not know what to do. I was looking forward to remarrying and moving on with my life by either having this time shorten or pay this off sooner. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF YOU CAN PAY OFF SOONER OR HOW TO GET MY REFUNDS TO REFLECT A REDUCED CHAPTER 13. THANK YOU

CityGirl, this is a very old post from before the bk law changed. You believe what your lawyer tells you! (And I'm closing this thread to further posts.)
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
