I am not sure if this is the appropiate place to post this or not so I am apologizing in advance if not. I am starting graduate school and I notice that my loan approval amount is pretty low, I don't even think that it will cover all my books after tution is paid. I am now one year out of BK, does a BK affect your student loan status?

The FinAid website does a great job explaining how bankruptcy impacts getting student loans - http://www.finaid.org/questions/bankruptcy.phtml . They note that generally speaking, a bankruptcy should not have an impact on eligibility for federal student aid but can definitely impact your ability to qualify for private student aid.
