I had my meeting with an attorney that I felt comfortable with vs. the other idiot who had me terrified and put me off and off. She sat down with all my bills and debts answered my questions so kindly. She gave us a proposed payment that was less then half what the means test said we would have to pay..........could this possibly be true? With this payment we will be well on our way to a much better life style and on the path to recovery. How often and much do you all find that the amonut of payment is what the trustee accepts?

I just felt like it was too good to be true, with it we will actually pay less to bills then we do now. I just don't believe it is true. This attorney was wonderful, I felt so confident with her I want to believe it but before we settle down and agree to use this one, I wanted some opinions on this matter. She said about 90% of the time the trustee doesn't question them on chapter 13 bankruptcies. Is life actually going to get easier,

It sounds like you may have lucked out and found the perfect lawyer/trustee combination, Daisey - good for you! Ch 13 *should* make things easier when the Means Test results accurately reflect your financial reality.

Consider making 1-2 more appointments with different bk lawyers so that way you'll have a good pool to judge from. If the additional lawyers lean more toward one side or the other, that's an indication of how reliable this lawyer's recommendations are.
