    Wamu selling off my debt?

    I was discharged 2/27/2007.
Now on my report up pops a collection agency.LVNV FUNDING. So I call them and ask what this is for. As I cannot tell from the credit report. And they tell m they do not have an account w/my ssn on it. So they get my name and number and say they will get back to me. I also explein that I filed and discharged. So they say they will get back in 72 hours. I do a little research and find that Wamu sold the account to them? WaMu was noted on the credit reports as IIB. What is up w/that and was I an idiot to give the lvnv my number?
    Does that make sence?
    TIA

If the WAMU debt was listed and discharged in your Ch 7, then whoever was foolish enough to buy up that debt doesn't have a legal leg to stand on. Don't let them intimidate you. Just make a copy of your bk discharge and send it to them. That should do it.

If you want to know more about LVNV, check them out here - http://www.lvnvfunding.com/ . Looks like their business is to buy up debt from creditors and try to collect it. In your case, LVNV is very likely gonna lose what they paid (probably pennies on the dollar).

Dispute it with the credit bureaus. Write to them and send them a copy of your discharge paper. They'll delete it - they deleted the collection item on my report (which was for my Sears Gold MasterCard which was IIB).
