I have finally convinced DH that we need to do this. I am trying to look at this as positive. I just want to be able to live! But, what is the best way to go about finding a lawyer? I know no lawyers and have never needed a lawyer before.

There are several ways. Look in the yellow pages, there are big flashy ads of lawyers who specialize in bankruptcy. Most of these give free initial consults. Study up before talking with them and schedule several consults.
I found mine through google search. He was close to my house, checked the courthouse, he had several bankruptcy cases, but not enough to be a bankruptcy mill. I felt really comfortable with him, he wasnt judging, didnt flinch when I told him that I wanted to pay his fee through the plan. It been a tough 3 years, but im down to about 7 weeks to go, and I will be through.
