    MIKASA closing

MIKASA is closing all of its retail business in North America.

I confess a weakness for MIKASA, Lladro and Precious Moments.

Went to the Mikasa outlet yesterday and at 60% off I scooped up several beautiful sets that were MADE IN JAPAN, the delicate good stuff. It was funny because several employees saw me turning everything upside down and kept going by saying "yes, that's Japanese". I was able to get two lovely sets of six expresso cups for my mom and my wife. The one set was regular $20.00 each and I got them for 8.00 apiece!!!!!! Got ALOT of extra gifts, well over $500.00 worth for less than $115.00!!!

Honestly, I may pay the phone bill late but it was to good to pass up, several ladies including a clerk were shocked that i found the cups, I got the last six really eggshell thin Bone China ones that were left all with silver lining.

If you have a MIKASA get there tomorrow as the shelves were bone dry almost but some Japanese and Italian stuff is still left in sets.

The world markets are leaving the US in droves. Our money is becoming useless. I just read yesterday it is at about the level it was in the Civil War. That's 1861-1864 people.

I figured that to be the reason. I know that several software companies that sell online are switching to the Euro after Jan. 1. Prices will rise about 40%. We are in trouble. I wonder if this is a ploy by the US to tie us to some Global/UN deal. GEEZ I wonder about parts for foreign cars that are produced overseas.
