Means Test Question - Line 24

I have a question about the means test, Line 24 specifically. The question pertains to Vehicle Ownership / Lease Allowance for Vehicle 2.

Does this get checked if we own two vehicles and one is paid for? Do we still get that $478 as expenses? The wording is very unclear, standard faire for a congressional rule.

It could go either way. That money could only mean payments but those are taken care of later down. It could also mean the Ownership costs including insurance, maintanence. The gas and stuff seems to be covered in the Vehicle Operation expenses, but not the rest of the bills.

Anyone here with some knowledge about this? Thanks in advanced.

This is a gray area of the current badly written bk law. Some bk districts have case law decisions that allow you to have the IRS car deductions even if the car is paid off, some have decided the other way and say you can't count them. Only an experienced local bk lawyer can tell you which will be the case in your local court.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
