    Arizona Economy

I don't know what the economy is like in other parts of the country, but out here in Arizona, it is really bad right now.

The contractors I usually work for don't have any jobs right now, and the classified ad I placed for work hasn't been getting me any calls at all. This is very unusual for me. Arizona usually has a very robust economy and a lot of work.

I also have a lot of cancellations from customers who previously wanted work done.

This is the slowest I have seen it... ever!

I may have to move up my bankruptcy filing and then go get a job at McDonalds.

Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.

I am also a contractor, only in Indiana. I have been in the decorating field for over 20 yrs. This last year was awful and it appears from how things are going it won't be much better this yr unless things drastically turn around.

I even went out and found a small part time job just to make up the difference in lost wages.

Very scary to me, that's why we are here. Without cc payments we can atleast pay our basic bills and stay in our house.

What type of work do you do? What other skills do you have, or willing to acquire? There really isn't any sort of simple answer/action for a person to take when they've been laid off.

It's everywhere, I'm in NC. My restaurant has always relied on construction and trades people. They aren't out working so they aren't out eating. We've been quite slow. This is my 3rd recession since I've had the store and its been the worse. I wasn't ready for it, thats what brought me to this forum.

Anything related to the housing/building industry has pretty much come to a standstill, and will probably worsen too. HomeDepot and Lowes are pretty much empty nowadays.

I just moved from Arizona to VA, I had 7 houses there, it was like watching money fly out the window it went down so fast. With interest rates coming down, i can now see the market bottoming within the next 4 months.
