My brother sent me a MO to help me save my house. $500.00 I never got it. Some one stole an envelope taped to my door with money for food delivery since I don't have a car.

Someone has been going through my mail and stealing checks. There goes the house.

I am so sorry. I know that doesn't help right now.

I think your brother can let whoever he got the money order from it was stolen, long as he has the carbon of the MO. That's what someone told me anyway. Not sure what they will do or can do, but right now it sure couldn't hurt.

OK.......HOLD ON!

Your brother should have a receipt to that money order & you need to contact him so that he can go to the bank where the MO was drawn on & report it stolen.....it has a # and can be tracked....

I'm glad-- so far I don't know. I wonder how long I should wait for delivery?

I guess if it's not one thing, it's another huh?

I created a thread last week as to the rise in thefts due to this economy and all the layoffs & job losses occurring. The local police mentioned that to my daughter who had her car broken into right in the main entranceway to the hospital where she works; she ran in to drop off a heavy package (locked her car) and in just a few split seconds her window was smashed and items removed. Thankfully she took her purse with her.

Hide everything in vehicles; don't leave notes or anything taped to your doors; get a locking mailbox or P.O. Box if you are having checks stolen. Don't take anything with you when you go shopping or elsewhere that could be a target for theft; if you don't need it, leave it at home. I am so sorry you went through all that. Times are bad and many people resort to bad things to try to make a buck. The less you appear to be a target, the better.

Isn't it funny that until about Christmas, the government was saying that profits were higher than they had ever been and the economy was great, and all the people screaming "recession" were alarmists? I surly think I will get a mail box that is lockable, I may not go all the way to get one at the PO, because I am losing my car to the BK and will not feel like biking an extra 2 miles every day.
