    What can we expect confirmation

If everything goes well we should confirm on May 14th. Our attorney asked for the continuance so she complete paperwork and make some amendments. THe judge told us today we would be excused from that appointment. My husband and I were wondering what we could expect once we get confirmed. For example, can we expect plan increases or will our plan payment remain the same. We realize the trustee will want our income tax filings and I noticed today people who were already confirmed because they were receiving refunds were coming in to request refunds for expenses such as medical, car repairs, educational expenses for their kids, home repairs, etc. Will we have to show up to meet with the judge or the trustee once we are confirmed? I guess after all this we are both ready to move on with things and hopefully things will calm down.

Unless you have significant and long-term changes in your income or your expenses that require amending your plan, your confirmed payment will remain the same until your plan ends.

It's 99.9% likely the answer is no. You don't have to go to the confirmation hearing either. Typically the only time you are required to appear anywhere is the 341 meeting.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Thanks. My husband was asking that question. We are learning. For example, we just found out yesterday in Louisiana, your unsecured debtors don't have to file a claim. Another lawyer who was lingering in the lobby outside the court room was saying this is a "plan state". I am also figuring out that our attorney didn't disclose to us that this state REQUIRES payroll deduction. The court won't grant motions to self pay. We are actually finding out now that there are lots of things our attorney hasn't told us and when we start asking questions she gets really defensive. When I asked about a motion to self pay, she got really defensive and said she didn't know where I was getting that idea from, etc. and when I told her that I found that info on a very informative site, she got even more defensive and went on and on and told us about the states mandatory payroll deduction. We both flat out told her they never disclosed that nor it was in the paperwork. Like the payroll deduction increases. Our original plan had it split and we and they signed off on that. the trustee has increased me three times. I got upset with the attorney saying I signed off on the original one, not this, and was very upset that this could happen without my consent or signing off on it. Right now I am so upset with my husband for getting us in this mess.
