Funny thing happened today...

I finally told a few of my creditors that I had hired the services of a lawyer and would be filing within the next month and they told me they would stop calling. I was surprised, I thought that they wouldn't stop calling until I had a case number? Any reason why they ask what Chapter I would be filing, I told them I didn't want to disclose that information and they could talk to my lawyer, but other than that they were very nice about it.

Their interested in which Chapter 7 or 13............because Chapter 7 usually means "no money for them" and Chapter 13 can mean "they might get some money back"..... they want to know whether to file a claim or not.....

Or possibly to speed up collection efforts.

The few that called me asked what chapter and I told them. And I also gave them my attorneys name and number. I haven't gotten a call again.

And if they are trying to speed up the collection efforts, they still won't get money.

Same here, it was funny they stopped calling me but found my fathers phone number and started asking him questions...he hang up on them of course
