    Experian scam on verifying bankruptcy

    Hello Everyone,

Recently on a Saturday I challenged a bankruptcy listing on my experian credit report. Experian acknowleged the dispute and indicated they would check it out and get back to me.

Within 24 hours I get a notification that they have verified the bankruptcy with the court and it is legitimate.

Just for the record it is not me.

Anyway. How in the world could they verify the entry so quickly and on a weekend.

I know the court is closed and how they could do this is beyound me.

    Thanks for your help.

Was it the Public Record section that indicated the bankruptcy or a creditor's history stating something to the effect "included in bankruptcy?
You asked how they can so quickly verify the info, especially over a weekend. They don't, they're lying their a...s off. They're just too lazy to really investigate matters such as this for consumers. Remember it's a creditor/CRA conspiracy to screw the public.

      Hello 123,

It was in the public records section.

I believe the CRAs are getting wise to the fact that a lot of folks are disputing things constantly as to BK stating that items are not theirs, etc. in the hopes of getting them off and those with legitimate issues probably suffer from it. They are probably putting the edge toward you to verify the situation with your BK Court so the BK Court can take care of the matter. Our public informatoin listing had the wrong filing date on there when first listed and we had to have the BK Court correct that on the credit report. It is extremely hard to get that information removed. I suggest to contact the BK court immediately and advise them that a BK that is not under your name is appearing on your credit reports and the information is coming from them to the reporting agencies. Best of luck to you!

I don't think that we have to prove it is wrong, it's up to them to prove that it is right. If they can't prove their info is right, then they have to remove it. No?
I would consider writing them back a certified register letter, very legal looking that they have to sign for and DEMAND this FALSE INFO be taken off or you will file an official complaint.

You can always write to the BK Court and ask them if they verify BK's(which they don't). Once you get the letter stating they don't, you can send that to the CRA as proof that they are lying. Make sure to keep a copy.
