Cali wrote: I can't believe how insensitive you are. Your life must be full of joy.
Why am I insensitive when I try to show you that there are innocent civilians that are dying and being mamed for wars that should never have been fought. Are you sensitive to these peoples? Or is it that American lives are more precious because they are of a different race or worship a different God? How about the torture that goes on in Guantonimo to SUSPECTS, not even people who are confirmed enemies, some of them being innocent buy have to live under those conditions. But Im insensitive because I think of others and their suffering. I cringe when I watched the news and US soldiers are dying. For what? For who? hey bmrigs,
sadly, unless a war is fought on someones own soil, most people do not care if others die. The soldiers will care & their parents will care but in general americans dont have a clue.
There is someone at work who wanted to know why we cared about the war & would have it on TV sometimes. I told her because thousands of innocent people are dying over the greedy of a few.
Her reply was, "who cares, that is over there, not here."
in this particular war, only the few who have their dirty hands in the oil buisness.Originally posted by bmrigs View PostWho benefits?

Spush.Originally posted by magyar123 View PostOK - which one was a bigger crook - Nixon or this Bush??
He is the most unpopular, the biggest failure, & also the biggest liar as he stacked his whole administration against the USA & the entire world for his own personal vendetta.
Nixon comes in second.

Yeah, I get this response also when the US face resistance of anykind over there. "We should just nuke the whole Middle East" How do Americans expect sympathy when they show apathy????????"Paper is poverty,... it is only the ghost of money, and not money itself." --Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, 1788

EDWIN STARR lyrics - War
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives
War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives
I said, war, huh
Good God, y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain't nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It's an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it's got one friend
That's the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can't give life
It can only take it away
Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way
Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it
War, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing
War - Edwin Starr
Here are 3 truths.
The official version of the "Civil War", which by the way was not a civil war, is a lie.
The official version of WW2 is a lie.
The official version of the reason for the War on Terror and 9/11 is a lie.
Get Up Stand Up - Bob Marley-(Impeach Bush & Cheney)
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: dont give up the fight!
Preacherman, dont tell me,
Heaven is under the earth.
I know you dont know
What life is really worth.
Its not all that glitters is gold;
alf the story has never been told:
So now you see the light, eh!
Stand up for your rights. come on!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: dont give up the fight!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: dont give up the fight!
Most people think,
Great God will come from the skies,
Take away everything
And make everybody feel high.
But if you know what life is worth,
You will look for yours on earth:
And now you see the light,
You stand up for your rights. jah!
Get up, stand up! (jah, jah!)
Stand up for your rights! (oh-hoo!)
Get up, stand up! (get up, stand up!)
Dont give up the fight! (life is your right!)
Get up, stand up! (so we cant give up the fight!)
Stand up for your rights! (lord, lord!)
Get up, stand up! (keep on struggling on!)
Dont give up the fight! (yeah!)
We sick an tired of-a your ism-skism game -
Dyin n goin to heaven in-a jesus name, lord.
We know when we understand:
Almighty God is a living man.
You can fool some people sometimes,
But you cant fool all the people all the time.
So now we see the light (what you gonna do? ),
We gonna stand up for our rights! (yeah, yeah, yeah!)
So you better:
Get up, stand up! (in the morning! git it up!)
Stand up for your rights! (stand up for our rights!)
Get up, stand up!
Dont give up the fight! (dont give it up, dont give it up!)
Get up, stand up! (get up, stand up!)
Stand up for your rights! (get up, stand up!)
Get up, stand up! ( ... )
Dont give up the fight! (get up, stand up!)
Get up, stand up! ( ... )
Stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up!
Dont give up the fight!

Kontrol
Control By Poker Face
lyrics by Paul Topete of Poker Face and their album "Made in America""When I was young my teachers told me that I was free
and as a child I grew up programed by tv
and as a teenage boy I found out just how free is free
I took a toke from some good smoke
when the man came down on me
we are gonna take back kontrol
take it back
gonna free our soul
gonna take kontrol
save my soul
what it's gonna take to make us realise that we are not living free
standing up for rights is only doing whats right
they will knock you to your knees
whats it gonna take for you to wake up
you gotta fight to stay free
it only takes a spark to set things off
you say you wanna revolution we are gonna take back kontrol
take it back
take it back
gtonna free our soul
gonna take kontrol
take it back
satellites in the skies broadcasting lies to billions of people
cameras on the streets tracking who we meet
you call this liberty?
what's it gonna take to make you realise you gotta fight to stay free?"

--the Buddha"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it -even if I have said it - unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

Listen to Paul Topete from Poker Face talk about the 80% club:
He says we don't agree on everything, but for the most part if we can put the 20% of things we don't agree on, and just work together, we can take our country back.

I Wanna Know by Poker Face
Here is a video by Ed K. set to music by Poker Face
Rather Die Than Be Your Slave
I do not wish this life to pass away
But life presents such possibilities - Each and every day
I heard a calling that was right for me
I prayed for strength for what's a head of me - Please show me the way
The sun rose high and burnt the night away
Who stood before me was my enemy - Don't tread on me
He's come to take away my liberties
I'd rather die than be a slave to thee - Don't treat me this way
CHORUS: I'd rather die than be your slave
I will survive, and you'll feel my rage
Its not a question of being brave
I'd just rather die, than be your slave
CHORUS
It didn't matter who shot first that day
They killed my brothers, they laid dead by me - I'm covered in their blood
We hit them hard we made them pay that day
We hung the traitors from the highest trees - No mercy from me
We lost a lot our pain was heavy
We sacrificed for GOD and country - No more colony
Still held the ground that was in front of me
This was our price to pay for liberty - Still you hear me say
CHORUS
Much time has past, we repeat history Our toys have changed while man
has stayed the same - Evil in his ways
Tribal families rule not over me
I will not let them rape our liberties - We'll die for them today

William Cooper-A Short Biography
--William Cooper: Secret Government"I only have one message to give you. I don't care what you think of
me. I don't care what you call me. I do care what you do with this
information because it is important to our survival as a species. It
is important to our planet. It is important for the world.
What happens to me is of no consequence, and I knew that when I
started this. Over the last 17 years I knew that I would have to stand
up and say this whether I wanted to or not, whether I was afraid, or
not. Now I am here, and now it is done. And I feel an overwhelming
relief.
You now have the information. You can laugh at it, you can throw it in
the trashcan. You can burn my house down if you want to. But I am
telling you right now, your future, your children's future, your
grandchildren's future, depends on what you do with this information."
Your own government is selling your children drugs, and you don't seem
to care. Your own government has given away the power of the people
and you don't seem to care. There is an apathy that is running rapid
in this country, that is deadly. Whether or not there are aliens, we
are truly now at this moment a nation of sheep. And ladies and
gentlemen, I assure you that sheep are always lead to the slaughter.
But it does not have to be that way.
There is tremendous power in knowledge. There is also tremendous power
in secrecy. Take away that secrecy, you make sure that you are
informed, and you can change things."Last edited by BankruptPinoy; 07-18-2008, 08:19 PM.

To many folks want to just blame the current President. We did not arrive at our current situation because of just George Bush. The blame needs to be shared with the Congress of the United States as well, both past and present.
bmrigs is correct the Federal Government since the civil war has increasingly usurped powers that were enumerated to the States. At the same time Congress has neglected its own Constitutional duties by passing the buck. This ranges from neglect of taking care of the money of the union by creating the Federal Reserve Bank during the Woodrow administration, to the passage of the emergency deployment law after the Korean War which allowed a President to deploy troops on foreign soil without Congressional approval or declaration of war in direct violation of the Constitution.
Every war since the Korean War the President has used that power and thus Congress has not done their constitutional duty to oversee when we go to war or when we choose to remain out of it. The current Iraq and Afghanistan wars are just the most recent examples.
Our nation and our freedoms hang by a thread right now, and if we are not careful it will break. We need to stop the R vs D argument because it is mote. They have switched power every 8-12 years on average for 150 years. Things have only gotten worse not better over that time. It is time to look not to a person's party but to the person and elect men and women who have strong convictions and strong love of our nation, who are more interested in doing good for the people than lining their pockets. It will not be an easy battle in the current system, but we must break the two party system if we are to remain a free people. Changing President is not enough we must change the Congress as well. Sadly there are not yet candidates from other parties or independent candidates running in all the states, I wish there were more but the laws are against them. If every American would go into their polling booth and vote for someone other than a R or D then we could perhaps make progress. To many are afraid to make that choice, they feel comfortable with the R and D and letting them flip every few years and that's sad because it never achieves progress.
If you value your freedom, and value this nation take the time to write your Representatives and Senators in the US congress and in the legislatures of your states. Let them know how you feel about issues. If you don't they'll continue as they have been doing which is only killing the future. You cannot borrow from the future to pay for today.
There is a good organization that I do not think is supported by any of the political parties while some of its initiatives are supported by one or more parties.
It might make good reading for everyone
