I filed a few weeks ago and I'm waiting for the 341 meeting. I'm trying to do the right thing and let our most expensive vehicle go back to the bank. Our least expensive vehicle (~$5,000) is wrapped up in cross-colateralization problems and it doesn't seem like the credit union will budge even though repossessing it wouldn't be worth the bother. Despite it all I'm trying to hang on to one or both of them and save up some cash for a replacement before they get towed away.
Today the transmission started slipping on the cheaper vehicle. I'm bummed out because I was hoping we manage to keep it somehow. :( I take good care of my vehicles and I've already made sure it wasn't something simple like low fluid.
All this is happening after the same vehicle had a bearing failure on the engine last fall! I let it sit all Winter thinking we'd file soon and let it go but we still couldn't file. After it sat for a months and Bankruptcy still seemed far away I was able to get the engine replaced with a brand new one for a very reasonable price and I was sure it would serve us for many more years.
I hate the idea of financing a replacement and vehicles that are hundreds of dollars are in high demand around here and are usually very overpriced for what you get.
WHY CAN'T ANYTHING BE SIMPLE!!!
