        Brings back memories

        Hey there!
Congrats on the job you son has completed! And wish him well from me and my husband.

My son graduated from San Diego Marine boot camp in 1993. We went to it and it was soul inspiring, not only knowing he made the effort to go through MARINE BOOTCAMP, but to see all the other young, handsome, eager young men stand proud in their uniforms, dedicating the next few years of their live to our country. I was a very proud mom, as I'm sure you are. May God bless and keep him safe wherever he is sent to serve.

Thanks everyone but hold the rest of the applause for after MOS school. ALL prayers are desired and appreciated and thank you for them.

I know that young men will be young men but overall I was very impressed by the male and female recruits I encountered. I have two other dependents, alot older who are sucking me dry. They have both been put on notice and i took the house key today from one after a series of abuses of the privelege, coming into my home when he doesn't live here IN the middle of the night (after 10pm) and watching TV eating and doing laundry not caring how much noise he made among a host of insults to my wife and arrogant attitude and drive me around daddy and mommy trips. I had already bought the car, paid the first year at BCC and paid his insurance years ago, $6000 wasted in one year. I am tapped out. The other is on thin ice, got in trouble with the law, isn't working and is only nice when he wants something. The well is tapped dry, I am done, we are still struggling even though we make good money. It is expensive here and feeding people who aren't gainfully employed and one who is not in school is over.

Parris Island showed me that young people need higher standards and most will come up to them. The GF is young, works full time and goes to school, bought her own car, booked her own hotel, paid her own ticket and bought the boy a train ticket home so they could be together for a day. I let him take the train home from Jacksonville Florida. If that young lady can take care of business like that then two boys older than twenty are off my payroll.

Just a rant, I am putting up with alot. This young man however has never been a problem. This young man has wanted to be a Marine from about age five. He is not infantry, he loves firearms and is going for amorer.
