I filed a year ago. I am having some difficulty with some things now and my attorneys office will not call me back. I try to call there and get put on eternal hold. Can I change attorneys or what do you suggest? It is like they filed for me then left me out in the cold.

Very common, I hear this too much. Here is what you can do: Go online in your state's Bar association and download a form to complain against his bar license. Send him a letter of complaint with this enclosed and green card the letter. Explain to him if he does not act more "professional" and give you the courtesy you deserve, you will send the complaint into the bar. You WILL get a call from him. When you retained your attorney, you retained him to handle your case during your entire Plan. He represents you from date of filing to date of discharge. You just cannot go to another attorney in mid-stream. In this situation I suggest doing two things; first is to obtain the name(s) of his assistant and paralegal and work through them to get to the attorney; secondly, show up in person and state that you have been trying to call/contact your attorney regarding such and such and no one is getting back to you. State you would like to hear from your attorney in a certain time period (i.e., 24 hours) and if you do not, you will contact the State Bar Association and file a Complaint. If that does not work, you've got a bad problem and there might be rumblings as to your attorney possibly leaving that firm and going elsewhere or the attorney is involved in heavy, long-term litigation._________________________________________

It is not just an attorney, it is the whole firm. When you call, they ask what you are calling for. Then they transfer you to the so called "Confirmation dept". It always goes to voice mail, you leave message and never a call back. I called 2 to 3 times a day for 2 weeks just to test and see what happens and everytime, no call back. I told the receptionist what happens everytime I call, and what does she do. Transfers me to the same line....how do I report this firm?

Every firm has an Office Manager. Research the firm online and see if there is a listing of staff or who is the head partner. Write a letter of complaint and send a copy to your State Bar Association. Or you can show up in person and hand deliver the letter with a request that your attorney contact you as soon as possible. Handle it like you would any other business when you have a complaint...your attorney may not be getting your messages from what you are describing and that is why he/she is not getting back to you.Originally posted by bear30044 View PostIt is not just an attorney, it is the whole firm.
